About the Author

John Moorfield

John Moorfield, BA (Auckland), MEd (Wales), LittD (Otago), RSA Cambridge CTEFLA, is the author of the Te Whanake series. He is currently a Professor in Maori Innovation and Development at Te Ara Poutama, the Faculty of Maori Development at Auckland University of Technology. He was also a professor at Te Tumu, the School of Maori, Pacific and Indigenous Studies at the University of Otago from 1997-2007. Prior to that he was at The University of Waikato for 21 years after having taught in New Zealand secondary schools for eight years.
